HFC was officially registered as community based organization (CBO) as hope and faith center for disabled under the ministry of social services at kasarani mwiki and the certificate was issued.
The children officer committed through the court six abandoned venerable special kids from Babadogo, Mathare slum and Dadora and maji mazuri .Also they were all under anticonvulsant drugs where it was my effort to know where they will get the drug from, The journey started here now, I was introduced an organization in mathare support with giving out the anticonvulsant drugs with subside price where I was carrying them one by one each visit until they were all enrolled and registered to the organization (K.A.W.E) Kenya Association Welfare Epileptic ,Am grateful to this organization
The government officer requested us to create more space for kids with special needs because every day those kids are abandoned everywhere and they lack a center where they can place this kids for care and protection he narrated, This is a good facility which we lack as officer because these special kids needs someone who has a call for them, not just anyone he said, I started with twelve kids with cerebral palsy, mentally challenge and autism. Who were the donors?
Remember I had my savings because before I was working , ,so I was saving my salary due to my vision of when I grew up, I would rescue and assist abandoned children with intellectual disabilities in the society.
After starting I used all what I had through buying diapers, foodstuffs, paying bills and the salary of my three employees. After three year things were not how I thought, I started experiencing challenges one by one “being confident of this,
That He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (phip1:6)
Sometimes my workers disappears because they are not paid their salary for three months plus. But what made me move with this noble work was……….. I was the only one who was called to serve these angles….
WHEN THINGS BECAME WORSE I SAT DOWN TO FLUSH BACK WHERE I HAVE COME FROM AND WHERE AM ENDING TO WITH THIS KIDS.
The number continue growing and also we moved from Kasarani Mwiki to Kahawa wendani.
Here things changed because we were in a rental house and I remember on March 2009 I was I saw big photo in the Dairy Nation Gazette with the special needs kids, This strike my heart because I realized someone was chasing my dream silently ,I was also summoned with the letter from Kenyan auctioneers who were claiming that the landlady of the facility needs us to move from the facility because we were had rent arrears. My side i was to die, develop depression due to tress but because our god always is faithful to his people he come at his own time.
We got standard chartered bank that come to our rescue, they supported in buying a piece of land at Jujafarm where we are today.
Where are today
Hope & Faith Home for special needy children is located in Kiambu County ,Juja constituency. The home started as a result of a (calling from God) by the young lady who grew up with a brother who had special needs (autism), three cousins with special needs (mentally challenged),late grandfather who was visually impaired and an uncle with(physically challenge)
We have 43 children of whom 25 boys and are 18 girls. All of them are housed within the children home sharing the available facilities and in outreach program we have more than forty five kids. Also we have staffs that are dedicated to this noble work and offer their services, four caregivers and one social worker.
