Education

We provide basic academic skills such as reading and writing, while supporting the integration of children into appropriate special schools to enhance learning and educational development.

Therapy

We offer continuous therapy to improve coordination, mobility, posture, and learning abilities, delivered by trained house mothers to support each child’s physical and cognitive development.

Vocational Training

Children are taught practical skills including weaving, knitting, carpentry, and bleaching, while nurturing their individual talents to promote independence, confidence, and self-reliance.

Support Group

We support parents and guardians through information sharing, guidance, and training to help them understand, manage, and overcome challenges faced by children with special needs.

Outreach Program

We conduct community sensitization, volunteer engagement, and internship programs, strengthening awareness while supplementing staff capacity by enabling professionals to contribute their skills and expertise.

Project Achievements

  1. Through the therapy program twelve children have managed to walk and four integrated in special schools.
  2. There is greater sense of awareness and information through the workshops and seminars organized by the institution and other stakeholders
  3. With the support from the targeted community members, parents/guardians and well-wishers, it has been possible to establish a well-managed and operating center, where enrolled children are catered for individually and corporately.
  4. Through collaboration and networking with well-wisher, local institutions and donor agencies some children have received Aid devices to improve their performance and coordination i.e. Wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches and therapeutic equipment’s.

Short Term Goals

  1. To create awareness and sensitize the community and the society at large on potentials, skills and talents endowed in disabled children.
  2. Integrate rehabilitated children from the institution in relevant special schools so as to enjoy their right for education.
  3. Rehabilitate children enrolled in the institution through social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical interventions.
  4. Lobby and advocate for the rights of children and persons with disability.
  5. Encourage formation of support groups of parents or guardians with special needs children.
  6. Through the partnership of OASA self-help organization we acquired 1/8 of land for institution expansion on the year 2019 where we are intending to establish  resource center where we will offer all services required by person with special needs as per as they are concerned.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To empower the community members through awareness creation on disability issues
  2. To offer effective and efficient services to children with special needs who are abandoned
  3. To advocate and lobby in policy formulation issues affecting children with special needs and the society
  4. To encourage formation of support group of parents with special needs children and empowering them in order to reduce the high rate of abandonments of kids in the society as large
  5. Develop and expand the children home to cater and accommodate more children with special needs.
  6. Start special institution like a resource center/a school through( CBO) or ministry of education which will have all different personnel like speech therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, occupational therapist educational and physio therapist who will attend our kids and also we can assist more from the community who are in need of this services  because  in Kenya getting them is not easy ,the private hospital charges a lot of money and through our small service we offer in the current facility  ,we have interacted with many parent who don’t have any knowledge of where they can get help.
